BOTSWANA ROAD FREIGHT  (ALSO KNOWN AS BA / TA PERMITS)

BA Permit or Road Freight permit - This is needed to convey and deliver goods in Botswana. 

TA Permit or Transit Road Freight Permit - This is needed when transiting through Botswana into another SADC country to deliver goods.

*When delivering goods in Botswana and a neighboring country - both BA and TA Permits will be needed.

CROSS BORDER PERMITS (ALSO KNOWN AS MOU)

When travelling to any of the following SADC Countries (Angola, Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe) transporting goods or passengers a cross border permit will be needed to comply with the cross border road transport Act.

The duration of the permits vary and available to apply as below:

  • 14 Days
  • 3 Months
  • 1 Year

PORT / HARBOUR PERMITS

Valid for 12 months at all RSA Ports when entering to load or off load.
